The Opportunity

Are you someone who can inspire change and innovation? We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager who is ready to dive straight in! You will lead a team of Engineers, Technicians and apprentices developing manufacturing processes, tooling and tool design, and equipment necessary to successfully and economically produce Caterpillar’s world class Telehandler.

Accountabilities
  • Overseeing manufacturing engineering teams and developing the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.
  • Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.
  • Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tool e.g. process flows, PFMEAs, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
  • Project management – Full scope, development, budgets, resources and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.
  • Leading tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc.
  • Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realise operating goals and objectives.
  • Leading the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.

  • Extensive Experience in Manufacturing Processes
    :
    Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Extensive Experience in Project Management
    :
    Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organise, monitor, budgets and control projects, ensuring efficient utilisation of technical and administrative resources to achieve project targets.
  • Extensive Experience in Manufacturing Safety
    :
    Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work‑related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Expert Level In
  • Judgment and Decision Making
    :
    Knowledge of process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximise organisational performance.
  • Problem Management Process – MFG
    :
    Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
  • Leading Teams
    :
    Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Demonstrated success in managing cross‑functional teams to achieve project goals and drive continuous improvement.
Experience Of
  • Lean Manufacturing
    :
    Knowledge of the philosophy, fundamentals and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
What You May Have
  • In‑depth knowledge of assembly, testing, finishing, and production processes, with the ability to optimise workflows and ensure quality standards at scale.
  • Proficiency in Siemens Teamcenter, including managing complex product data and guiding teams in configuration control.
