Position: Work Study Student - Financial Aid - UWCE Resource Assistant (Fall 2026)

Work Study Student

The Work Study Student will support the Office of Financial Aid on the Liberty Campus beginning Fall 2026. The student will support United Way's regional service centers as a Resource Assistant by assisting with daily operations, community programs, and client services. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Please confirm your Federal Work-Study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with daily office operations including organizing documents, data entry, filing, and scanning
  • Supports email management and responds to general inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Assists the Regional County Director with special projects, events, and service center operations
  • Tracks inventory, restocks supplies, and notifies staff when supplies are low
  • Updates Smartsheet or designated tracking tools with accurate counts and delivery details
  • Communicates with Regional Program Manager regarding weekly volunteer assignments and coverage needs
  • Supports logistics for food deliveries and program distribution
  • Maintains updated knowledge of community resources, programs, and intake procedures to support client referrals

Shift Specifics:
Up to 12 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability. Located off campus, traveling to and from work site is the applicant's responsibility. Cannot work during scheduled class times. Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database software preferred
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages preferred

Proposed Salary: $15.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
