Head Football Coach​/Teacher -High School

190 day teacher contract/ +20 additional days / +supplement $20,000.00

• valid professional georgia teaching certificate with secondary field certification
• exceptional teaching ability that is documented in references from immediate supervisors
• the ability to work successfully with other professionals. Proven organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills
• successful coaching experience as documented by former principals and athletic directors
• prior experience as a head coach or as an offensive or defensive coordinator
• strong understanding of ghsa rules and regulations governing football
• such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent of schools may find acceptable and appropriate

• prompt and regular attendance
• provide and use appropriate teaching strategies
• supports school level academic improvement goals and participate in school related professional development
• evaluates student performance
• provides instruction to assigned students
• effectively communicates with parents and the community as appropriate
• performs all duties of the head football coach
• works cooperatively with the administration in the development of game schedules, student academic needs, practice and schedules, etc…
• maintains a well-documented plan of how to develop and operate a successful football program. This plan should include:
• leadership style
• student expectations
• coaching staff expectations
• plan for program development
• plan for off-season conditioning
• plan for maintaining student academic and behavioral success
• plan for building support for the program within the community
• plan for off season maintenance of student academic and behavioral success
• plan for maintaining the football facility, which inculdes expectations of student and coaches
• other duties as assigned by the athletic director, principal, and superintendent of schools

able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
light work: exerting 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.

salary shall be paid consistent on the system’s approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
