JOB SUMMARYThe Liberty County Sheriff's Office is accepting internal and external applications for the position of Jail Lieutenant
. This position supervises the processing of inmates at the Liberty County Jail.
- The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.
- The work is typically performed in a jail facility. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, and contagious or infectious diseases. The work requires the use of specialized law enforcement equipment and protective devices.
This position has direct supervision over assigned personnel within an area, department, or unit. Direct supervision typically involves the ability to manage schedules, performance, and the interpersonal issues of other employees. It may involve the ability to recommend changes to work priorities or strategies within an area, department, or unit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Must possess Jailer or Correctional Officer Certification through Georgia P.O.S.T.
