Location: Winn Army Community Hospital
Pay rate: $45/hr + $4.23 HW
Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
- Admit and help in arranging the transfer of patients.
- Screen patients to determine injury/illness.
- Conduct limited medical history interviews; observe or determine changes in objective and subjective symptoms and record and report.
- Attend and participate in inpatient nursing reports, patient care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences, and other appropriate professional activities as determined by the Chief, Department of Nursing or other designated representative approved by the Contracting Officer.
- Obtain and prepare for analysis blood specimens, urine specimens, stool specimens, and culture specimens.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Perform procedures:
Urethral swabs, glucometer, dextrostix, guaiac stool, and radial puncture. - Assist with the treatment of patients with common diseases/communicable diseases, minor injuries, contracted poisons, bites or stings, serious acute illness, and minor burns.
- Assist with IV therapy, administer IV fluids, maintain IV fluids rate, and administer blood products.
- Perform CPR.
- Control bleeding.
- Assist in intubations and monitor ET tube.
- Maintain and operate pulse oximeter, Dynamap, infusion pumps, blood warmer, EKG machine, and defibrillator.
- Degree/Education: Registered Nurse shall have an Associate’s degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, or graduate-level degree from a program that provides a diploma or degree in nursing from a National League of Nursing (NLN)/American Education Service (AES) accredited school.
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or as otherwise identified in the TO.
- Experience: Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years working in an Emergency room. Must possess knowledge of trauma process, triage, and a variety of emergent and semi-emergent techniques.
- Certifications: Possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) through an American Red Cross approved training program.
