As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations. You are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest and staff experience, leading a team, solving problems, handling stress, and maintaining a high-energy environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines and achieve unit objectives.
- Cultivate a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values.
- Respond to and correct guest complaints promptly with staff.
- Maintain guest contact as a priority, completing required table visits per Flynn Applebee's standards.
- Maintain departmental inventory levels.
- Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.
- Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands.
- Maintain safety and security programs.
- Promote restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
- Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
- Promote Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
- Maintain a trained staff through effective orientation, training sessions, employee meetings, and policy implementation.
- Participate in employee development using one-on-one coaching and performance documentation; contribute to written evaluations.
- Assess employee performance, provide regular feedback, and work on development areas.
- Monitor performance and document issues that require disciplinary or corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Control costs in the assigned department.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
- Drive bi-weekly/weekly inventories on request and ensure completion.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
- Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.
- Provide a role model for managers and employees.
- Develop self on store-related technology.
- Willing and able to work in all positions and assist in team member roles as needed, including cooking, expo, seating guests, and bartending.
- Participate in the Management Development Program to grow leadership skills and proficiencies.
- At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications are a plus
- Work various shifts including weekends
- Stand and move for up to ten hours
- Safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Read and write to facilitate communication; dexterity for using small tools and equipment
