The Position:
As a Line Cook at Scarlet Oak Tavern, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards of quality while also ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organized, and running smoothly. • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and specifications
• Operating kitchen equipment, such as grills, ovens, and fryers, to cook and prepare food
• Ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
• Preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Following all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
• Monitoring inventory levels and notifying management when supplies are running low
• Communicating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient preparation of meals
• Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas

• Experience as a line cook or in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment and use kitchen tools safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and specifications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability for stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
