🩺 Role Overview

The RN Supervisor provides direct nursing care while planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily clinical operations. This role supports and develops nursing and clinical staff, ensures compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and leads quality initiatives related to patient safety and operational excellence.

The Supervisor promotes professional nursing practice, supports shared governance, and plays a key role in staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.

Clinical Leadership & Patient Care

  • Provide direct patient care as needed in a primary care setting
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and oversee care planning
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Promote evidence-based nursing practice

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and support nursing and clinical staff
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, orientation, and competency validation
  • Serve as a mentor and preceptor to nursing and clinical team members
  • Conduct performance feedback and support professional development

Operations & Practice Management

  • Oversee daily staffing, workflows, and clinical operations
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and supply par management
  • Collaborate with physicians, office leadership, and clinical services
  • Serve as liaison for EHR training and clinical informatics needs

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Lead survey readiness and back-office clinical quality initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
  • Participate in audits, assessments, and performance improvement efforts
  • May serve as a Practice Safety Coach

Professional Practice & Governance

  • Support shared governance and professional nursing standards
  • Participate in data collection and evidence-based improvement initiatives
  • Attend leadership and clinical champion meetings

  • Required: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
πŸ“œ Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
  • BLS – Basic Life Support
🧠 Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years RN experience (required)
    OR
  • 1 year RN experience OR licensed LPN/CMA with 2+ years in a physician practice
  • Supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
  • Primary care or specialty practice experience (preferred)
