Registered Nurse – Acute Care Surgical Unit

Role: The RN Clinical Nurse collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care in a clinical setting. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, adhering to evidence-based standards and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provide patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations, respecting cultural differences.
• Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and goal setting.
• Coordinate and document safe, quality care, promoting teamwork, respectful communication, and a positive environment.
• Support performance improvement, research, and evidence-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Mentor and serve as a preceptor to foster a skilled, professional nursing workforce.
• Participate in protocol development, resource management, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; RN licensure (single or multi-state compact) and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in clinical technology, critical thinking, and time management.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and emergency situations.
