Hiram Animal Hospital is hiring a full‑time veterinary receptionist. This position is open for applicants with experience in veterinary or medical front desk operations.

Salary
: $17.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule
:
Rotating 3‑day shifts (open to close), every other Saturday, or a half‑day during the week.

As a front‑desk professional you will be the knowledgeable, welcoming face of Hiram Animal Hospital. Your role helps ensure smoother appointments, stronger client relationships, and better patient outcomes.

• Be the first point of contact: greet clients and pets, complete sign‑in, confirm appointment details, and reassure clients.
• Support clinical flow: escort clients to exam rooms and relay key information between clients and clinical staff.
• Manage client communications: handle incoming calls, appointment scheduling, prescription refills, and outbound reminders.
• Operate with accuracy: process payments, manage invoicing, and schedule future appointments.
• Speak the language: understand and communicate clearly about vaccines, lab tests, procedures, pet behavior, and veterinary terminology.
• Create a welcoming space: maintain a clean, organized, and client‑ready environment, occasionally assisting with pet‑related clean‑up.

• Previous experience in a medical or veterinary front‑desk, receptionist, or administrative assistant role.
• Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Comfort discussing sensitive topics (e.g., end‑of‑life care, financial matters) with empathy.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor.
