Primary Responsibilities Performance
  • Promote accountability to achieve retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni‑channel, and retail shrink goals.
  • Drive profitability via operational excellence, top‑line growth, and expense control.
  • Use store forecasts and payroll budgets to aid scheduling, communicate with the GM, and maintain productivity and payroll targets.
  • Analyze financial and operational reports, including store visit and audit results, to make timely decisions.
  • Leverage company tools to realize store goals and implement improvements.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demos to enhance sales and guest satisfaction.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and product benefits to serve guests effectively.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and enforce the Ulta Beauty attendance policy with associates.
People
  • Attract, hire, and retain diverse top talent while addressing staffing needs.
  • Build an engaged team aligned with the Ulta Brand through collaboration and clear communication.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth.
  • Support manager and associate development, including training, competency feedback, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and individual growth plans.
  • Ensure direct reports complete ongoing training, including brand and category education.
  • Establish vendor partnerships to meet shipment and planogram expectations.
  • Model operational excellence by working with leadership and sharing best practices.
  • Lead the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive results across Annual Performance Goal metrics.
Process
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta policies, procedures, and store standards.
  • Enforce the dress code.
  • Execute operational focuses such as visual sets, planograms, realignments, and inventory lifecycle tasks (cycle counts, damages, testers, RTVs, DIFs).
  • Use scheduling tools to adjust shifts in real time.
  • Use task management tools to prioritize and execute store workloads.
  • Manage inventory and ordering for services, boutique, and retail, staying within budget.
  • Protect assets and minimize loss through safety, cash, inventory control, and loss prevention.
  • Carry out inventory control processes (theft, damages, returns) and report theft when needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement by adopting company initiatives and technology.
  • Communicate operational insights, trends, and challenges to field leadership.
Job Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • 2–3+ years of fast‑paced retail management or equivalent experience.
  • Financial management: driving sales, interpreting data, managing payroll and expense.
  • Retail management: inventory levels, operational excellence, service culture, merchandising.
  • Leadership: attracting, developing, and motivating talent, change management, collaboration.
Skills
  • Basic technology proficiency (POS, Microsoft Office, Apple devices).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Decisiveness under pressure and adaptability.
Special

Position Requirements
  • Flexible full‑time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability to work on Sundays and Mondays.
  • Attendance at corporate meetings and conferences.
Working Conditions
  • Continuous mobility (twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, reaching).
  • Lift and move up to 25 lbs. continuously.
  • Use of computer, telephones, and office supplies.
  • Seasonal physical demands such as carrying large items during peak periods.
