We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Forging (Special Metals Division) team in the role of Assistant Engineer.
Job Purpose:
Assistant Engineer (Forge Master) is responsible for co-ordinating the forging operations at the 4500T open die forging press, guiding the press operator with proper instructions to ensure the jobs are properly forged and finished to the required sizes. Also responsible for dimensional and shape control of the forgings being processed
Key Responsibilities:
Manage shift production operations and controlling the forging team.
Supervise shift manpower working under your guidance and direct the press operator to achieve the desired dimensional and shape controls.
Shall be accountable for press operations and forging product quality
Assist the press operator as well as shift supervisor with identification and traceability of the products that are being forged complying to the process documents
Co-ordinate with reheating forging furnace operations and control the product identification and traceability to avoid grade mix-up
Ensure timely corrective actions and process improvements in the press activities.

B.Sc.
Experience:
5-7 years of relevant experience in Open Die Forging Industry
Technical Expertise:
Hands on experience of forging alloy steels, heat-resisting steels, high-speed steels, tool & die steels, stainless steels, iron & nickel-based superalloys.
To supervise the Open Die Forging Press activities (min. 2000T capacity) & bogie/box type reheating furnaces (min. 10 MT capacity).
Experience in major forging activities for Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear, Oil & Gas applications.
Key Skills &
Competencies:
Strong knowledge of open die forging processes and furnace operations.
Ability to read the drawings and sketches issued for forging processes and control forging shift operations effectively.
Assist the production shift team to ensure the forgings are processed with minimum time delay and control the fuel consumption within established norms of production
Experience in handling practical issues during forging processes, managing resources, consumables and shift manpower.
Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement in forging process.
