Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Door Surveyor / Supervisor to join our team on a full‑time hybrid basis, based in Hitchin. The role will involve works across the South of England, therefore candidates must be willing and able to travel.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed fire door inspections, producing comprehensive compliance reports, and ensuring all works meet current industry standards and regulations. The role will also involve supervising fire door installations, managing project programmes, and coordinating with site teams to maintain high levels of safety and quality control.

You will be expected to provide expert guidance on fire safety solutions and make informed recommendations for remedial works where required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed fire door inspections and surveys
  • Produce accurate, compliant inspection and condition reports
  • Ensure compliance with current fire safety legislation and standards
  • Supervise fire door installations and remedial works
  • Manage project timelines and coordinate with operatives and stakeholders
  • Monitor quality control and site safety standards
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations on fire door solutions
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven proficiency in fire door inspections, surveying, and fire safety regulations
  • Experience supervising installation works and managing project schedules
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify compliance issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and adapt to a hybrid working environment
  • Relevant fire safety or building compliance certifications (highly advantageous)
  • Good understanding of building construction and materials relating to fire door systems
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to safety compliance
