Assist Education lead in regular summer 2-hour sessions about bees and pollinators for children aged 5-11. Possibility to Join the monthly planning team.
Our Discovery Centre is a fully resourced classroom-sized outbuilding with an indoor observation hive and views into our small apiary, set in a lovely garden. Lesson plans available but new ideas always welcome. You would join a small friendly team offering teaching, resourcing and admin support.
We are hoping to run fortnightly sessions for schools, home education groups and uniformed groups through May to September, depending on availability of volunteers.
We usually allow an hour for set-up and an hour for clear-up, plus a couple of hours planning. Our visits get very positive feedback as we offer an exciting hands‑on experience not possible in a traditional classroom setting.
