About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering to join our growing team based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to take the next step in their career within a well-established and reputable contractor.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing accurate cost estimates for groundworks and associated civil engineering projects

* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

* Carrying out take-offs and producing detailed Bills of Quantities

* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations

* Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions

* Preparing and submitting competitive tenders within deadlines

* Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal project teams

* Attending pre- and post-tender meetings as required

Requirements

* Proven experience as an Estimator within groundworks and/or civil engineering

* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

* Excellent numerical and commercial awareness

* Strong negotiation and communication skills

* Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office

* Full UK driving licence
