ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer plans, designs, arranges, changes, and optimizes shop manufacturing processes.
Ideal Candidate:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Must be available to work on‑site daily in Hobart, Indiana.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and reporting.
Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement process control procedures.
- Direct improvements to facilities and processes.
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually to improve quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Work with configuration control and design engineering on product tooling and design.
- Consult with vendors about product specifications, arranging equipment, purchasing parts and material, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate and implement technical training for employees.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products and related fixtures and tooling consistent with zero‑defect level and low product cost.
- Document tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts.
- Help production with troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar field.
- Engineering internship/Co‑Op experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Knowledge of manufacturing and Lean concepts.
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Team‑oriented and collaborative.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
