NURSE PRACTITIONER-PCP

Methodist Hospitals seeks a Nurse Practitioner for a primary care role in a physician office practice setting under the direction of the medical director and supervisor of operations. The position requires providing medical services to patients within the scope of the nurse practitioner license in Indiana.

• Assist in identifying potential areas of program development, develop strategic implementation plans, and coordinate program objectives from the clinical and nursing perspective.
• Identify patient educational needs and develop comprehensive patient education plans.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations, document findings in the patient chart, and relay pertinent information to the physician.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership and direction for the program and office staff, mentoring office staff as needed.
• Support activities of medical director, physicians, and supervisor of operations through consultation and direct patient care activities in physician office settings.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults, and geriatric patients served within the service line.
• Knowledge of principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
• High degree of independent action and continuous pursuit of new information.
• Professional leadership evident through membership and active involvement in professional communities and organizations.
• Ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide appropriate care.
• Ability to update and maintain current knowledge through continuing education.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Graduation from a recognized college or university of nurse practitioner training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required).
• Preferred: 3 years experience as a Healthcare/Medical Nurse Practitioner.
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certified.
