Turbine Technician, Linam Ranch

The Turbine Technician is responsible for maintaining Gas Turbines, Compressors, Generators, and related equipment. They will also oversee Contract Field Service Technicians when needed and may handle other rotating equipment maintenance as required. The position reports to our Linam Ranch facility in Hobbs, NM.

Responsibilities may include:

• Performing preventative maintenance on Gas Turbines, including Gas Producer wash, filter changes, annual inspections, and calibrations.
• Maintaining Gas Turbines, Compressors, Control Panels, Surge Controls, Air intake Systems, and safety equipment.
• Swings Gas Producers during scheduled overhauls.
• Developing maintenance schedules for turbines.
• Conducting vibration analysis, thermographic analysis, and performance monitoring to detect early signs of wear or failure.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and performance data.
• Communicating with operations regarding maintenance needs and schedules.
• Participating in test cell runs and teardown of Gas Producers and Compressors.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues, and performing repairs on damaged components.
• Overhauling and replacing major turbine components as needed.
• Assisting with installation, alignment, and commissioning of turbines.
• Ensuring proper calibration of instrumentation and control systems.
• Performing maintenance on other rotating equipment as needed.

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 3+ years of experience as a Gas Turbine Technician, with ability to troubleshoot and repair control systems.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, data sheets, and compressor curves.
• Willingness to perform overtime, work near high-speed machinery, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and in harsh weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and work in high-temperature environments.
• Availability for callouts and working closely with teams to solve complex problems.

Preferred qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as a Gas Turbine Technician.
• Experience with PLC controls and relay control panels.
• Gas Turbine Training certification.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of machinery dynamics and vibration analysis.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.
