The Substation Technician performs repairs, modifications, replacements, and installations of electrical and electronic equipment systems, adhering to EEI’s Safety First Culture. This role supports the construction of new substations and upgrades of existing ones for Electrical Utility Companies. Per diem is provided when applicable.

• Work safely during construction and various tasks such as demolition, site preparation, excavating, back filling, landscaping, trenching, pole setting, and cable labeling.
• Read and understand system maps to gain knowledge of electric distribution systems, substation capacities, load areas, circuit feeds, and system sectionalizing.
• Assist with installing transformers, bus structures, switch gear, lines, ground grids, control buildings, and related substation materials.
• Operate forklifts with valid certification.
• Work with industry equipment like man baskets, skid steers, shovels, compactors, and backhoes.
• Work around energized high voltage systems with skill and care.
• Comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
