HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position
HVAC Technician – ERES Companies, Hobbs, New Mexico. Full‑time. Compensation: $30–$35 per hour. Requires HVAC certification, experience, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Responsibilities- HVAC service
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Providing technical direction and on‑job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions and customer requirements.
- Assisting with customers' queries.
- Perform all work with forethought as to risk avoidance within the safety of staff and tenants alike.
- Notify direct supervisor of any incidents or situations that may result in an insurance claim on the site.
- Assure compliance with all fire and safety codes and regulations and take precautionary repairs where risks begin to appear.
- Perform or supervise periodic testing/inspections of all fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and private hydrants.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
- HVAC certified (required).
- HVAC service education required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills and ability to manage difficult customers or situations.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- General computer knowledge.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to be on call for after‑hour emergencies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
The employee must lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, reach, talk, or hear. Must work from ground level to 20–30 feet on ladder or lift, and may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must work in extreme weather conditions and have a valid U.S. driving license, a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.

- Knowledge and compliance with relevant occupational health and safety regulations and standards associated with maintenance operations and construction services.
- Perform all activities in compliance with Company Safety policies.
- Customer‑centric disposition; polite and courteous manner in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Ability to read and interpret building and site plans.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must have a valid U.S. driving license for the state in which services are to be performed; own a reliable vehicle and provide proof of insurance.
