Job DescriptionJOB POSITION Care Assistant
SUPERVISOR Care Pastor
QualificationsHigh school diploma required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in theology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred.
Experience in an administrative role, preferably within a church or nonprofit setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact sensitively and confidentially with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Administrative Support- Assist the Care Pastor in scheduling appointments, managing emails, and organizing meetings.
- Maintain confidential records of pastoral care cases.
- Prepare and distribute materials for support groups, counseling sessions, and other care-related activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for congregants seeking care and support, ensuring compassionate and timely responses.
- Coordinate with other church departments to facilitate comprehensive care for individuals and families.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence and communication for the Care Pastor.
- Help organize and manage logistics for equip-related events such as workshops, seminars, and retreats.
- Coordinate volunteers for events and ongoing ministries.
- Assist in outreach efforts to the sick, bereaved, or those in need within the congregation and community.
- Maintain follow-up communication with those who have received care to ensure ongoing support.
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of discretion and ethical judgment in handling confidential information.
- Ability to work in an office setting and use standard office equipment.
- May require standing or sitting for extended periods.
- May include some lifting or carrying of supplies for events.
