Customer Service Representative (Entry-Level)

The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry‑Level Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Service team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping the public, developing strong communication skills, and beginning or advancing their career in customer service.

As an important part of our administrative operations, the Customer Service Representative will assist customers via phone and digital channels, provide accurate information about accounts and services, and ensure each interaction is handled professionally and with care. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, supportive environment. Multilingual abilities and previous call‑center experience are a plus, but not required.

This is a paid, entry‑level position with room for growth.

Primary Duties
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, or through email in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain office and kitchen supplies as needed to support daily operations.
  • Handle bankruptcy claims, including reviewing, organizing, and updating account information.
  • Create and maintain files in Laserfiche (document management system).
  • Provide general support to the Customer Service team and the management team as needed.
  • Assist with other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes, including Laserfiche.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Previous customer service or office experience preferred but not required – training will be provided.
