Teacher Assistant Preschool
Location: Hoboken (Maxwell Lane), NJ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00pm - 6:30pm or 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Description:
As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.
Responsibilities- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans
- Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication
- Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity
- Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs

Requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- A genuine love of children
- Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children
- Understanding of health and safety guidelines
- Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
$17.00 per hour
