PositionDescription
QCi is expanding its IT operations team and seeks a skilled System and Network Administrator to handle endpoint support (MacOS, Windows, Linux), manage Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 environments, design/deploy networking and AWS infrastructure, implement security measures including firewalls, endpoint security software, and vulnerability patching, and assist product development with secure customer access to our products.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesSystem, Network and Cloud Administrator
- Provide technical support to all QCi employees across a range of technologies including:
- Endpoint Operating System help (MacOS, Windows, Linux)
- Email, Messaging, Authentication and popular 3rd party applications
- Be the primary liaison with our laptop support vendor who provides 24x7 employee device support and logistics
- Work with our team in supporting Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Environments
- Design, procure and deploy QCi networking infrastructure for office, lab and other facilities
- Purchase, deploy, and monitor all network perimeter devices such as firewalls and analogous AWS infrastructure
- Monitor and manage our AWS activity
- Implement and test disaster recovery scenarios for key QCi systems (gitlab, NAS, software applications, etc)
Security Administration
- Specify, acquire and deploy perimeter security measures for office and AWS cloud (firewalls, api endpoints, etc)
- Incident management and response
- Monitor for known vulnerabilities and patch QCi systems in a timely manner
Support QCi Product Development
- Devise solutions to deploy secure solutions for customer access to QCi DIRAC, qRNG and other devices
- Work with QCi software and hardware teams, assist with product security hardening at the design and testing phases
- Support, manage, update source code repository manage systems in NJ and AWS (Git Lab)
- Work with Sales when requested to respond to customer queries relating to security and compliance questions
- Support our Web team with their requirements in deploying customer facing web pages
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field preferred but not required
- 5+ years in IT or related field
Technical and Professional Expertise
- Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Dev Ops, and Cloud/ System Administration or any combination of these skills is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Linux and Windows System Administration
- Ability to manage existing AWS environments, EC2 instances and user administration
- Experience with modern devops infrastructure, tools and processes (git, gitlab, CI/CD)
- Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery Planning and testing experience
- Familiarity with SOC-2, CIS, SOX and other Compliance Frameworks
- LAN and WAN Networking experience. Layer 2 Switches, Firewalls, VLANs, cable management and troubleshooting skills.
- Multi-protocol NAS filer experience (SMB, NFS and S3)
- Management experience with DNS, Registrar Interactions, Email/SMTP and
