Inland Marine Underwriter

Overview

Flexible hybrid work (3 days home), strong leadership courses, opportunity to grow the Inland Marine practice at a respected insurer in New York.

• Underwrite and grow a $1–1.5 million GWP book, focusing on Construction/Builders Risk, Motor Truck Cargo, and miscellaneous lines.
• Produce new business and maintain a target loss ratio of 45% while meeting annual company goals for profitability, renewal retention, and customer service standards.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters, a “buddy” in the Northeast, and a broker distribution network to expand the portfolio.
• Set appropriate rates and factor levels within established risk guidelines.

• Background in Inland Marine underwriting across construction, floaters or motor truck cargo.
• Strong broker distribution and ability to produce profitable new business.
• Excellent technical advice, risk assessment, and customer service skills.

• Base salary up to $150,000 + 25 % target bonus.
