Pump Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a Pump Mechanic / Welder for assignment in Hoboken, New Jersey. The selected candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm

** Candidates must have welding experience in order to be considered **

• Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions
• Replace packing in pumps or valves
• Replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment
• Tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators
• Examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences
• Install and sets up new equipment
• Clean and paint interior and exterior of equipment
• Clean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required
• Use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld
• Assist in keeping maintenance records
• Perform other duties as required

• A valid Drivers License
• 4+ years of mechanical / electrical experience working on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, controls and other equipment
• Proficient in welding
• Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
