Health and Safety Advisor

We are a growing, forward-thinking main contractor based in Hertfordshire, delivering high-quality construction projects across the South East. With a strong pipeline of work in the pharmaceutical and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) sectors, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our continued growth and uphold the highest safety standards across our sites.

The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture across multiple live projects. Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and senior management, you will ensure compliance with current legislation and industry best practice, particularly within highly regulated environments such as pharmaceutical facilities and MOJ projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of health & safety legislation and compliance

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

Support project teams with RAMS reviews and method statements

Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformances

Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions

Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and company H&S policies

Liaise with clients, consultants, and external bodies as required

Prepare reports and maintain accurate safety documentation

About You

Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry

Experience working on Pharmaceutical or MOJ (Ministry of Justice) projects is essential

Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) – essential

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
