• Salary: up to £25,000
• Hours: 40 hours per week

Established for over 50 years, we specialise in commercial catering, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation. We support a wide range of customers with reactive call-outs and planned maintenance, tailoring our service to each client s needs.

We re now looking to recruit a Trainee Air Conditioning Improver to join our service team, ideal for someone who has just passed FGAS or has experience as a duct fitter / duct cleaner and is looking to progress into air conditioning engineering.



The Role

Working alongside experienced engineers, you ll support service, maintenance, and installation works across contracts including:

• Hotels
• Restaurants
• Care Homes
• Health Centres

This is a field-based, customer-facing role with full training and development provided.

Key Responsibilities (Training Supported)

• Assisting with servicing, maintenance and repairs on:
• Split Systems
• VRV / VRF systems
• AHUs (Air Handling Units)
• (Exposure to chillers as you progress)
• Supporting planned maintenance visits (filters, belt checks, coil cleaning, basic fault finding)
• Learning to troubleshoot and diagnose AC system issues under supervision
• Completing job sheets and updates via smartphone system
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and company procedures
• Supporting reactive call-outs (introduced gradually as confidence grows)

Essential Qualifications / Requirements

• FGAS certificate (recently passed welcome) OR relevant site experience (e.g., duct fitting / duct cleaning) with strong interest in progressing into AC
• Full UK driving licence
• Good attitude, willingness to learn, and professionalism with customers

Desirable (Not Essential)

• NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning
• Basic electrical awareness
• Previous experience on commercial sites (hotels/restaurants/care)

Progression & Development

• Hands-on mentoring with senior engineers
• Training plan to build competence in service, fault finding, and maintenance
• Opportunity to progress into an Air Conditioning Engineer role as skills develop
