Optum’s behavioral health department seeks a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician/Therapist to join our team in Boston, MA. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care Team you will be integral to improving healthcare for all.
Primary Responsibilities- Form excellent provider‑patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers
- Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
- Participate in enriching the training experience of our graduate students
- Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
- Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using evidence‑based methods such as CBT, DBT, etc.
- Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications
- Opportunity to represent the practice in community presentations and lectures
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
- Active and unrestricted license (LICSW, LMFT, LMHC) in the state of practice
- 2+ years of professional social work / clinical experience post Master’s
- Experience providing direct psychotherapy to individuals and families
- Proficiency with computers for professional communication and documentation – Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness
