The role

As a Demand & Supply Planner, you are passionate about optimizing demand and supply planning processes and enjoy contributing to a more sustainable future. Your responsibilities go far beyond just planning. You will play a crucial role in improving the demand and supply planning processes. You make a significant contribution to the success, sustainability, and growth of the organization. Within the team of demand planners, you will actively contribute to projects such as process improvements, sustainability, and machine learning initiatives.

The team already has a data-driven approach and is ready for the next step. This next step includes Power BI and Python, with Excel being used less and less. You are responsible for improving the efficiency of the demand and supply planning processes, enhancing forecast accuracy, and supporting new product launches. You work closely with various departments to optimize the supply chain and contribute to our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

Demand Planning:

  • Maintain the 12-month forecast to increase accuracy and planning precision.
  • Analyze trends to improve forecast accuracy and make data-driven adjustments.
  • Manage data within a forecasting tool to increase baseline forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Category Management on forecast data for New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure proper alignment with demand plans.
  • Support sales teams to ensure and improve demand planning input and accuracy.
  • Work with various international stakeholders to align total demand issues in international markets.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, translating this data into insightful information during Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.

Supply Planning:

  • Generate a weekly supply plan based on forecast inputs, in coordination with demand planning.
  • Collaborate with the global procurement team to ensure optimal order quantities and delivery conditions, considering complex production processes.
  • Identify potential supply issues and communicate with the business.
  • Ensure optimal product availability in all three warehouses with cost efficiency in mind.
  • Manage (safety) stock levels, considering the product life cycle and demand planning.

Projects:

  • Contribute to data-driven developments by actively participating in the automation of manual tasks and reporting processes.
  • Improve Power BI dashboards to provide better visibility on risks, enabling better data-driven decision-making.
  • Enhance the current phase-in/phase-out management plan, focusing on safety stock and forecasting accuracy.
  • Improve forecasting processes for New Product Introductions (NPI).

Your profile
  • Bachelor/Master in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
  • Proven work experience in Supply (chain) or Demand Planning.
  • Proactive, able to make independent decisions and lead initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English. (Dutch is a nice to have)
  • Ability to explain complex data simply and effectively to senior management.
  • Familiar with working with large datasets and automating tasks.
  • Experience with Python is super nice to have, but a willingness to learn is also great.
