After School Childcare Provider
West Ottawa Public Schools – Riley Farms Elementary School, Grand Rapids, MI
Position #: 3905 – Posting Dates:
December 10, 2025 – Until Filled
- Hours:
10 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM - Class:
School-Year/Part-Time - Reports To:
State & Federal Coordinator - Beginning: 01/05/2026
- Background Check:
Must pass a criminal background check through the Michigan State Police and the FBI (Registration in the CCBC System) - CPR and First Aid Certification:
Current certification required - Annual Training:
Ongoing professional development required, including training on child abuse and neglect, child development, safety, and emergency procedures
- Provide Supervision:
Safeguard the safety and well‑being of children during the after‑care period (3:45‑6:00 PM) - Engage in
Activities:
Lead age‑appropriate activities such as games, crafts, and reading - Morning Routines:
Assist children with settling in and following a routine - Promote Positive Behavior:
Foster a respectful, inclusive environment and manage behavior, contacting parents with concerns - Communication with Parents:
Greet parents at drop‑off/pick‑up and provide brief updates as needed - Collaborate with School Staff:
Coordinate with school personnel to ensure a smooth transition - Maintain Cleanliness:
Keep the space clean, organized, and safe - Follow Policies and Procedures:
Adhere to all school policies, health regulations, and safety protocols
- Reaching:
Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction - Lifting:
Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally; substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles - Grasping:
Apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm - Talking:
Express or exchange ideas by spoken work; accurate, loud or quick oral instructions required - Hearing:
Perceive sounds at normal speaking levels; able to receive detailed information orally - Repetitive motions:
Make substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers - Environmental conditions:
