Elementary School, Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, K12, Special Education Teacher
At least as important as teaching well: your contribution as a subject specialist to the development of our education. Of course, you do not do this alone, but together with your colleagues from the subject section and other colleagues. Cross-subject collaboration goes without saying here. For example, we do this to the full during our Huygens Days. We also give you the freedom and space to spend part of your working week on other tasks, such as personal development.
Your duties will include:
- teaching your subject to students in lower secondary VWO/Havo/TL classes 10 lessons of 50 minutes;
- Contribute to the personal development of your students;
- (possibly) fulfil a mentoring role for your mentor class;
- strengthening the continuous learning line together with colleagues from the subject section;
- providing customised hours (teaching small groups of students who need more guidance or more challenge).
If you become our new colleague, we will organise an induction programme for you in the first year so that you can really settle in well. Together with your two coaches for general and subject-specific guidance, you will then discover everything the Huygens College has to offer you.
Job requirementsWe are looking for a first- and/or second-grade teacher. In addition to your qualifications, we consider it important that you:
- be an addition to the collegial working atmosphere that characterises our school;
- sees feedback as an important tool to keep growing and innovating;
- really involved in the development of your students, in terms of knowledge but also personally.
Appointment as an LB/LC/LD teacher. Salary based on current or last position, effective November 2, 2026 with a size of 0.4 – 0.5 FTE.
This is a temporary appointment, no later than the end of the school year.
In addition, we offer:
- salaries and terms of employment in accordance with the CAO VO collective agreement, including holiday pay and a year-end bonus of 8.33%, an attractive commuting allowance (kilometres exceeding 25 km one way are now also reimbursed after the first year) and car exchange schemes;
- Personal budget of 90 hours for full-time employment;
- generous lesson storage. At SOVON, we think this is a prerequisite for doing your job well;
- nine schools in one foundation, which means there are extra opportunities for you to grow;
- collective insurance in case of partial disability;
- a pension scheme with pension fund ABP.
Acquisition in response to this vacancy is not appreciated.
