Applications Engineer – JR Automation

Onsite position in Holland, MI.

• Gain a thorough understanding of Customer Specifications, Requirements, and existing Pain Points.
• Develop and define cost‑competitive, capable Technical Solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Apply practical conformance to JRA Applications Engineering corporate practices, procedures, and tools.
• Provide cross‑functional team support for projects for which you were the assigned AE.
• Ensure conformance to “As Sold” Scope of Work.
• Review customer technical specifications and requirements to develop System Concepts, Cost, Risk Assessments, and Proposal Documents.
• Generate and render conceptual solutions for customer problems that may have no previous or standard solutions in various CAD formats.
• Facilitate concept brainstorming and lead docket review meetings with support from Level 3, Level 4, Lead, or AE Manager.
• Prepare and schedule preliminary and final quote package reviews for internal and external audiences.
• Develop proposals that clearly and completely define the proposed Scope of Work, production rate, machine buy‑off requirements, customer part requirements, assumptions, and exceptions.
• Support account managers by leveraging pain points and competitive advantages into proposals.
• Travel with a mentor or account manager.
• Present to a customer with the support of a mentor.
• Maintain AE‑related fields in the company CRM.
• Schedule and facilitate project kickoff meetings for PEP.
• Facilitate required tollgate meetings for awarded work and consult with the PM for scope variation.
• Attend early‑phase project design reviews to ensure conformance to “As Sold” Scope of Work.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related field, or equivalent.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years industry experience leading successful projects.
• Proficiency in all Applications Engineering processes and tools.
• Previous JR Automation experience or automation industry experience strongly preferred.
