Position Summary:
The Composite Technician manufactures the fiberglass reinforced plastic (composite) parts needed to construct components of a boat/yacht while following build specifications in a safe and organized work area. These composite components include hulls, decks, superstructures, and other small and medium parts required. We are looking for dependable, personable individuals with an eye for quality who are willing to learn. Composite experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who shows a willingness to work hard and enthusiasm for learning a new trade.
- Work with minimal supervision on a team to build specific composite parts per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructions.
- Complete lay-up or fabrication of engineered composite (fiberglass) structures.
- Communicate product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leader.
- Perform physical tasks for long periods, including standing, lifting, bending, climbing, using hands and working with various materials.
- Use basic computer knowledge.
- Pay attention to details and self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are minimized.
- Validate process and product to meet quality specifications.
- Assist with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance.
- Maintain daily labor tracking records.
- Prepare, use and maintain composite tools, including resin dispensing equipment.
- Use grinding, cutting, and trimming tools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or management.
- Work on open molding, closed molding, and/or infusion.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

- Practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area (e.g., safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection).
