Machine Operator – Day Shift – Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4 pm

General Purpose

Under limited supervision, operates machinery and uses various processes and equipment to fabricate, manufacture, or move wood products while meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. Performs set‑ups, follows written instructions, and reads drawing specifications for multiple types of machinery.

Essential Functions

• Follow Standard Work Instructions, operating multiple types of production machines involving close tolerances, and setting up parts of irregular shapes.
• Load sheets of wood and operate machinery such as panel saws, nesters, CNC machines, straight‑line edge banders, contour banders and/or OMAL’s.
• Read and interpret dimensions and other information from drawings.
• Complete daily paperwork and necessary documentation.
• Consistently perform quality checks using measurement tools such as tape rulers, gauges, and calipers.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and departmental safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc. with training.
• Work cooperatively within the team and with members of other teams as needed.
• Demonstrate willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
• Required to stand, walk, and use hands for the duration of the shift.
• Lift and move up to 25 lb; occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
• Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.
