Quality Technician & Safety Coordinator (1st shift) - No Sundays!

Location:

Holland, MI (SIGVARIS GROUP Australia)

We are looking for a Quality Technician & Safety Coordinator to join our team in Holland, MI. In this role you will report directly to the Supervisor and be responsible for quality assurance procedures, auditing and inspections of our products in the production areas, identifying issues, and reporting. You will also support continuous improvement activities and coordinate the Safety Program with our external safety consultant.

Schedule
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in numbering, sorting, filing, storing and retrieval of ISO documents.
  • Conduct finished goods, in‑process, label and raw material audits/inspections with detailed documentation and reporting.
  • Prepare for QMS audits.
  • Control non‑conforming product and ensure proper disposition.
  • Investigate scrap and follow‑up activities.
  • Document and investigate customer complaints.
  • Perform periodic calibration and testing activities.
  • Conduct daily quality reviews with supervisors and production management.
  • Maintain filing system within guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Fulfill documentation and reporting requirements for the Quality Management program.
  • Develop performance improvement targets for quality, service and efficiency.
  • Maintain production accept/reject limit samples.
  • Inspect returned and reworked goods and determine disposition.
  • Validate returned good reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure work conforms to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate, monitor and report all quality issues.
  • Coordinate safety requirements with external safety consultant.
  • Support physical inventory counts (year‑end and cycle counts).
  • Promote positive morale and open communication across departments.
  • Interact with customers to maintain positive relationships.
  • Demonstrate patience, courtesy, tact and flexibility.
  • Use effective communication methods.
  • Keep supervisors and staff informed of developments.
  • Respond promptly to oral and written communications.
  • Maintain open communication lines with internal and external customers.
  • Check and respond to voicemail messages timely.
  • Present written data accurately and legibly to customers.
  • Follow company policies, ISO 9001 standards and applicable laws.
  • Follow work instructions and maintain accurate records for the Quality System.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures/standards.
  • Knowledge of safety practices (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, bend for long periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and climb.
  • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
  • Good vision, including close and distance vision.
