Job Description

At Northern, we know that keeping our community's HVAC systems in top shape is essential work. We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. We like to keep things simple: we work hard, treat our customers like family, and take care of our own.

If you are a seasoned tech and want a personable, supportive environment where your heating and cooling expertise is truly valued, you have found your place.

What You'll Do

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including, but not limited to gas furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits.
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical schematics to quickly resolve complex equipment failures.
  • Execute precise refrigerant recovery, vacuuming, brazing, and leak detection protocols in accordance with strictly held industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough preventative maintenance to optimize system performance, improve airflow, and enhance overall equipment energy efficiency.
  • Recommend and install Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) products, smart thermostats, and system upgrades tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource in the field, occasionally mentoring junior installers and sharing your mechanical expertise.

What You Bring

  • At least 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, HVAC Mechanic, or HVACR Specialist in the field.
  • An active EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) for the safe and legal handling of refrigerants.
  • Deep working knowledge of the refrigeration cycle, electrical circuits, hydronics, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Proficiency with specialized diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, digital manifolds, anemometers, and combustion analyzers.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean, reliable driving record to confidently operate our fully stocked company vehicles while keeping them organized.
  • A personable, problem-solving attitude with the ability to translate complex technical HVAC repairs into honest, easy-to-understand advice for homeowners.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay with straightforward opportunities for overtime. PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE
  • A fully stocked, take-home company vehicle and help in upgrading tools
  • Comprehensive health benefits, plus paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Continuous on-the-job training to help you advance your career in the HVAC industry.
