POSITION SUMMARY

The Marine Technician – Systems Specialist installs and terminates electrical and mechanical systems on Ghostworks Marine platforms. A core part of the role is building modular, pre-wired electrical component panels for clean installation and consistent quality across builds. The technician also maintains the electrical supply inventory and supports Engineering with electrical load analysis. This position is set up as a development path toward a supervisory role over electrical and systems installation.

PRIMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical Installation & Termination

  • Route, support, and secure wire harnesses and cables to ABYC standards and Ghostworks build specifications.
  • Make terminations with correct crimping, heat-shrink, labeling, and strain relief.
  • Install DC and AC distribution, breakers, fusing, switching, battery systems, chargers, inverters, lighting, and electronics.
  • Follow wiring diagrams, color codes, and wire-labeling conventions, and markup drawings to show as-built changes.

Modular Electrical Panel Layout & Build

  • Lay out and build modular electrical component panels that can be pre-assembled and dropped into platforms as finished units.
  • Help standardize panel designs, part lists, and build steps so panels can be repeated from boat to boat.
  • Bench-test and verify panels before installation.

Mechanical Systems Installation

  • Install onboard mechanical systems, including pumps, plumbing, steering, fuel, and related equipment, as assigned.
  • Coordinate install sequence with lamination, assembly, and finish crews to avoid rework.

Electrical Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory of wire, terminals, connectors, breakers, fuses, heat-shrink, and other electrical supplies.
  • Track usage, set reorder points, and give purchasing reorder requests ahead of build needs.
  • Keep the electrical stock area organized, labeled, and ready for audit.

Engineering Support – Electrical Load Charts

  • Help Engineering build electrical load charts for each platform, covering connected loads, duty cycles, and continuous versus intermittent loads.
  • Support conductor sizing, voltage-drop checks, overcurrent protection selection, and battery and charging capacity planning.
  • Feed real-world install findings back to Engineering so designs and documentation improve over time.

Quality, Testing & Documentation

  • Perform continuity, polarity, insulation, and functional testing before systems are handed off.
  • Document test results and nonconformances under the Ghostworks quality standards.
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
