Position OverviewThe Activities Counselor plays a key role in creating fun, safe, and meaningful experiences for children, families, and members of all ages. This hands-on role involves leading youth programming, assisting with after-school support and homework, and helping with family and member events. Whether engaging kids in crafts, supervising group games, or hosting trivia and karaoke nights, the Counselor ensures a welcoming, energetic, and safe environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities- Youth Programming:
Supervise and lead activities for children ages 3+ (fully toilet trained). Activities may include arts & crafts, board games, group games, and themed projects. - Tutoring & Homework Help:
Support children with reading, writing, math, science, and other school assignments during after-school programs or reserved sessions. - Kids Night Out:
Lead and supervise Friday evening “Kids Night Out” programs from 5:30 PM–9:00 PM (on designated Fridays). - Event Hosting:
Be comfortable hosting and leading member events such as trivia, karaoke, games, and themed challenges. - Event Support:
Assist in running family and seasonal events such as socials, holiday parties, and brunches. - Safety & Supervision:
Monitor participants, enforce safety protocols, resolve conflicts, and provide a secure and positive environment. - Family Engagement:
Communicate with parents and families regarding youth programming, expectations, and child progress. - Set-Up & Clean-Up:
Prepare spaces and materials before activities and ensure all areas are cleaned and reset afterwards. - Team
Collaboration:
Work directly with the Director of Member Experience and support other departments when needed. - Emergency Response:
Provide basic first aid when needed and follow emergency procedures (CPR/First Aid certification required).
- Prior experience working with groups of children (childcare, camp, teaching, tutoring, or recreation setting preferred).
- Ability to tutor or assist with homework in multiple subjects (reading, writing, math, science, etc.).
- 1+ years of customer service or member-facing experience.
- Must be able to lead activities, give clear instructions, and encourage participation.
- Professional, well-spoken, and able to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and management.
- Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable working with children, teens, and families.
- Must be comfortable hosting and leading events, including trivia, karaoke, games, and interactive socials.
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to stay responsible, organized, and positive in a busy, high-energy environment.

, as hours are based on member reservations and event needs.
- Core Availability:
- Wednesday–Saturday (daytime and evening availability required).
- Some Sundays as needed.
- Kids Night Outs:
Must be available on designated Fridays, 5:30–9:00 PM. - Additional Opportunities:
- Teacher workdays and seasonal camps (8:30 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Fri).
- Summer Camp (8:30 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Fri).
- Holiday & family events (Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Party, Santa Brunch, etc.).
- After-School Clubs (typically Mon–Fri, 4–6 PM).
Shifts and hours vary weekly/monthly depending on reservations and event schedules.
Physical & Work Environment- Active, on-your-feet role requiring walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Busy, high-energy environment with frequent member interaction.
