. We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in life science or related industries to manage an ongoing QAQC project in Holly Springs, NC.

Job Title: Project Manager – Industrial Quality Inspection

Position Overview

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of quality inspection and project delivery for a major pharmaceutical facility under construction. This role requires strong leadership in managing inspection teams, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications, and maintaining client satisfaction while controlling budgets, schedules, and manpower.

The ideal candidate will have a background in industrial construction, mechanical systems, or process piping, with experience leading teams in quality control or inspection environments within regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the inspection team performing quality checks on piping, welding, systems, and fabricated components.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower forecasts, and resource plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams.
  • Ensure all work complies with project drawings, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, cGMP, FDA, ISO).
Quality Oversight
  • Oversee and verify inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
  • Review and approve quality documentation such as inspection test plans (ITPs), welding procedures, and material traceability records.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of turnover packages and system walkdowns.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary client interface for quality inspection-related activities.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and performance metrics through regular status reports and meetings.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage and mentor a team of inspectors, quality technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and monitor progress to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Education & Experience
  • 7+ years of project management experience in construction or quality inspection environments (pharmaceutical, industrial, or related sector preferred).
  • Experience in mechanical/industrial engineering (AS or BS preferred but not required with strong work experience).
  • Strong understanding of piping and welding inspection practices, materials, and system testing requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and ASME B31.3 or equivalent standards.
Certifications (Preferred)
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification. – Nice to have but not required
  • NDT VT Level II or III – preferred
  • AWS-CWI, ASQ-CQE, or related inspection/quality credentials also considered “nice to have” but not required.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.

  • Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Adobe and/or Bluebeam and other scheduling tools; strong general computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities.
