Job SummaryTheatre Technicians will be responsible for the operation of production equipment at the Holly Springs Cultural Center (primary focus) and at other Town venues.
ResponsibilitiesDuties may include the setup, operation, and maintenance of theatrical and event production equipment, including lighting, audio, and set pieces. Technicians work in a team to support guest artists, performance groups, and renters with lighting, sound, and set requirements, as assigned. At times Theatre Technicians may be expected to lead a small group of Technicians during performance, events, and rentals. Positions are also responsible for the supervision of the theater and technical equipment during performances, events, and rentals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this fast paced collaborative work environment.
A working knowledge of all of the following with proficiency in at least one is required:
- professional audio mixing consoles and other audio equipment, such as microphones and speakers
- theatre lighting consoles and equipment, as well as lighting design
- theatre set construction or carpentry
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Theatre Production Specialist. Scheduled work hours, including evenings and weekends, will fluctuate based on the employee's availability and skill set as well as the needs of scheduled performances, events, and rentals. Starting pay range is $16-$18 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
QualificationsApplicants must be age 18 or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina driver license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
