Medical Technologist - Point of Care Coordinator

Location: Holly Springs, NC

UNC REX Healthcare is offering a commitment incentive for newly-hired employees: $10,000 for a two‑year work commitment, provided in equal installments after each six‑month period of work is completed for up to two years.

Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNCHCS.

6:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

• Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and training of new employees; may serve as a technical resource.
• Performs quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
• Performs routine and less standardized test procedures, including special chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic laboratory tests; observes tests and reactions and provides data.
• Prepares specimens, reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
• Reports results to healthcare providers, consults/confers with healthcare providers regarding test results.
• Reviews test results to ensure accuracy of reports and timely correction of errors.

Requires a Bachelor's of Science degree. Must meet eligibility requirements upon hire to sit for the MT exam within 12 months of hire.

Must obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible.

No prior experience required.
