Patient Access Intake Specialist – Holly Springs ED

Join UNC Health as a patient access intake specialist in the Holly Springs Hospital ED. This position is responsible for ensuring patient access processing is performed in accordance with procedures and documented in ADT and other clinical information systems, meeting departmental outcome targets for process accuracy and timeliness.

• Ensures and verifies key ADT information (insurance verification, patient and guarantor demographics, etc.) is current and accurate to ensure patient safety, charging, coding, insurance processing, and billing accuracy.
• Schedules all new and follow‑up patient appointments as required. Attempts to reschedule cancellations whenever possible and communicates cancellations to provider as necessary.
• Completes and documents all governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance with procedure, ensuring documents are scanned/saved to the correct location and are legible.
• Utilizes price estimation tools, when applicable, as part of the registration process to provide the most accurate estimate to patients.
• Meets departmental target for upfront collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, copays, and/or prior balances.
• Actively participates in departmental QA by utilizing system work queues, making a personal effort to reduce individual errors and make corrections.
