The Tech 1, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Corrective and Preventive (CAPA) Maintenance and Calibration practices and know-how.

• Performs general instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench‑top instrumentation
• Performs calibrations to instrumentation and controls
• Follows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards
• Performs loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Assists and performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities
• Adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practices
• Notifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
• Attends all required safety and health training
• Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off‑hours, as needed
• Performs spare parts assessments, as required
• Performs other duties, as assigned

• Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems
• Effective communication, both written and oral
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on‑call and weekends

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1-2 years of I&C experience
• Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field
• Prior I&C experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environment
• Experience with troubleshooting instrumentation and controls
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), such as Pro Cal V5 , Blue Mountain, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office or other computer software

• Will work in environment which may necessitate respiratory protection
• May work in Mechanical/Production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program
• Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or Powered Industrial Truck; may be required to operate a pallet jack
• Ability to discern audible cues
• Ability to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, visual acuity, including distinguishing color
• Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (60 minutes)
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (60 minutes)
• Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
• Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 33 lbs. with assistance (or 10 lbs. without assistance)
• Ability to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18” to 60” in height, and use twisting motions
