The Technician 1, Maintenance is responsible for assisting installation, maintenance, and repair of process related systems/equipment. Ensure these systems meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Also responsible for conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on process related equipment to ensure equipment is operating efficiently with minimal downtime.

Job Description What You’ll Do- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on process equipment, such as bioreactors, centrifuges, ultrafiltration skids, parts washers, autoclaves, isolators, and fillers
- Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality standards
- Adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe work practices
- Notify management or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
- Attend all required safety and health training
- Support site operations and emergency work orders during off‑hours, as needed
- Assist with spare parts assessments, as required
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Knowledge of mechanical systems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication, both written and oral
- Knowledge of GMP requirements and programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other process control systems
- Detail oriented, and problem‑solving and time management skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes
- Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on‑call and weekends
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of maintenance experience
- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or a related field
- Prior maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in an environment that may require respiratory protection.
Must be able to work in mechanical/production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program.
Must be able to operate machinery or a powered industrial truck.
Must be able to discern audible cues.
Must be able to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, including distinguishing color.
Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
Must be able to stand for up to 60 minutes.
Must be able to sit for up to 60 minutes.
Must be able to use repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Must be able to operate machinery and/or power tools.
Must be able to move objects up to 10 lbs. (if applicable) and, as required, up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to bend, push or pull and reach to retrieve materials from 18” to 60” in height, and use twisting motions.
