Overview
Join an innovative biopharmaceutical organization dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and reliability. As a Maintenance Technician 3, you will take a leadership role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving critical process equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
This position ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) while mentoring other technicians and contributing to continuous improvement across the maintenance function.

- Planning and performing preventive maintenance and repairs on process equipment, including bioreactors, centrifuges, ultrafiltration skids, parts washers, autoclaves, isolators, and fillers
- Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime
- Writing, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities
- Training and mentoring maintenance technicians to promote skill growth and technical consistency
- Maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance work and inspections
- Evaluating and recommending new equipment purchases, upgrades, or process improvements
- Assisting management in budget development and forecasting for maintenance and capital projects
- Providing input on maintenance schedules and resource planning
- Ensuring all work follows safety procedures, SOPs, and cGMP standards
- Reporting unsafe conditions to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and management
- Participating in required safety and health training
- Supporting off‑hour or emergency maintenance operations as needed
- Conducting spare parts assessments and maintaining inventory readiness
- Performing other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar manufacturing environment
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing maintenance
- Experience with Project Management or Lean Six Sigma principles
- Experience mentoring or leading maintenance teams
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- In‑depth understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation standards
- Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance
- Works on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative
- Determines methods and procedures for new assignments
- Serves as an informal team leader, providing guidance and technical support
- Understands broader implications of work and contributes to long‑term solutions
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, and ramps
- Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods (up to 60 minutes)
- Able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs
- Performs repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motions
- Requires corrected 20/20 vision and ability to distinguish color
- Must be able to hear and respond to audible cues
- May work in enclosed or elevated areas (>4 feet)
- Work may require hearing protection and participation in a conservation program
- May involve work in temperature‑controlled or mechanical environments
- Primarily based in production, mechanical, and cleanroom areas
- May require respiratory protection, depending on assigned tasks
- Possible exposure to outdoor elements or variable temperatures
- Work may include tight or confined spaces
