Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital – Holly Springs, North Carolina

Position: Full‑time

Schedule: FT – 2nd shift: 4pm‑2am, rotating weekends

Base Pay Range: $22.00/hr – $31.00/hr

Hiring Bonus: $2,500

Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospitals (TVRH) is a multi‑location group with two 24‑hour Emergency and Specialty practices. We offer advanced equipment and a fast‑paced, stimulating environment with opportunities for growth in surgery, anesthesia, and clinical care. We are looking for highly motivated, highly skilled technicians with strong technical skills, sound judgment, excellent communication, and teamwork.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide nursing care for critically ill and hospitalized patients in conjunction with veterinarians.
  • Participate in nurse rounds.
  • Triage incoming emergency patients.
  • Assess patient stability and obtain vital signs.
  • Perform diagnostics, including in‑hours laboratory testing and digital radiography, and treat emergency and hospitalized patients.
  • Perform hourly assessment and monitoring.
  • Observe patients and recognize changes in status.
  • Place peripheral and central catheters.
  • Perform venipuncture.
  • Restrain patients for exams and treatments.
  • Set up and administer IV and SQ fluids.
  • Perform client communication and education, including patient discharges.
  • Maintain urinary catheters.
  • Bandage removal and application.
  • Perform suture and drain removal.
  • Perform drug dose calculations for injectable medications and CRIs.
  • Administer injectable medications (IV, IM, SQ).
  • Administer other medications (PO, OU, OD).
  • Maintain isolation protocols for infectious patients.
  • Basic wound cleaning and care.
  • Prep patients for anesthetized procedures.
  • Prep equipment and supplies for anesthetized procedures.
  • Administer injectable and inhalant anesthesia.
  • Monitor patients while under anesthesia and maintain a monitoring log.
  • Interpret vital readings during anesthesia.
  • Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia.
  • Assist in CPR.
Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the veterinary field.
  • Preference given to individuals pursuing a degree in veterinary technology or animal science.
