Director, Learning Design & Educational Technology

Join Valencia College as our next Director of Learning Design & Educational Technology and help shape the future of teaching and learning through innovation, technology, and instructional design. In this leadership role, you will guide educational technology initiatives, partner with faculty to enhance teaching practices, and advance engaging learning experiences across online, hybrid, and in-person environments. You will also help drive the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies while strengthening the use of Canvas and other instructional tools to support faculty success and improve the student learning experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An educational background in instructional design, educational technology or curriculum and instruction
• Experience in higher education
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multiple initiatives
• Experience with Canvas, instructional design, and technology-enhanced learning
• Ability to build relationships and navigate multiple stakeholders
• Ability to lead college-wide initiatives and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

General Position Description

Provides college-wide leadership in course design and the strategic development, and continuous improvement of technology-enhanced teaching and learning across instructional delivery modalities. Oversees educational technology systems and digital learning infrastructure. Ensures compliance with high-quality standards, and partners with OIT to integrate emerging technologies. Implements a strategic plan for distance education and supports student success in online, mixed-mode, and technology-enhanced in-person courses.
