Overview
Under the direct supervision of a licensed, clinical audiologist, the Audiology Extern assesses and performs habilitation/rehabilitation of individuals with auditory and vestibular disorders, prevention of hearing loss, and research in normal and disordered auditory and vestibular function.
Essential Job Functions- Under the direct supervision of a licensed, clinical audiologist identifies, evaluates, and assists in habilitate/rehabilitate of individuals with either peripheral or central auditory impairments as well as vestibular impairments and strive to prevent such impairments.
- Provides information on hearing, hearing loss and disability, prevention of hearing loss, and rehabilitation to business and industry. Aids in development and assist in overseeing hearing screening programs to detect individuals with hearing loss of all ages.
- Completing a BA/BS in an Audiology Program
- One year clinical site requirement required for licensure
