Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers

Location:

Lactalis, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, DG9 7DA

Working Hours:

Full-time, permanent (4×4)

About the Role

We’re looking for Multi-Skilled Engineers to join our fast-paced engineering team at Lactalis Stranraer. In this key role, you’ll help keep our food production and packing lines running smoothly by maintaining and improving equipment, systems, and services. You’ll work across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure high performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment faults quickly and effectively

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance

• Operate and maintain our CMMS

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

• Document all maintenance activities and shift handovers

• Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and improve processes

• Mentor apprentices and support the development of team members

• As part of our ISO 14001 accreditation, you’ll play a key role in promoting sustainable practices, reducing waste and energy use, and supporting our environmental management initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Time-served apprenticeship with relevant engineering qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing or similar environment

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Proficient in MS Office and maintenance systems

• Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach
